PALM SUNDAY AND HOLY WEEK
As we enter spiritually into the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ during this Holy Week, I invite you to join us in particular for the Sacred Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.  The Adoration Chapel will be closed from 6:30 p.m. Holy Thursday before we begin the Mass of the Last Supper until after the Easter Vigil is completed, Holy Saturday night, around 10:30 p.m.  The 7:00 p.m. Holy Thursday Mass will be followed by the procession in church to the day chapel, where adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place until midnight.  The Good Friday services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Remember, too, that Good Friday is a day of both fast and abstinence.  The Easter Vigil, the most glorious liturgy of the year, begins Holy Saturday night at 8:00 p.m., when we light the Easter fire and welcome the Risen Lord into the Church, along with our new Catholics being baptized, confirmed and receiving their first Holy Eucharist.  We will have the regular Sunday schedule on Easter morning, but there will be no 5:30 evening Mass.  Come rejoice in the Risen Lord and bring a friend to sing Alleluias to the Lord!

DIVINE MERCY NOVENA
The Novena to the Divine Mercy of Jesus begins on Good Friday. The novena pamphlets will be available in church and may be prayed on your own during the Triduum.  The prayers during Easter Week leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday focus on the theme “Jesus, I trust in You.”
As we make our Passover journey this week from sin and death to life and grace, let us place all of our trust in our merciful Savior who gave his life that we might live the abundant life.  No matter what passion we have faced on our Good Fridays, God desires to pour out mercy upon our souls bringing light into our darkness.  Let us praise and thank God for mercy and become ambassadors of that same mercy to illumine the world around us this Holy Week and during Easter Week as well.
