About Liturgical Minstry

“The Church earnestly desires that all the faithful be led to that full, conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations called for by the very nature of the liturgy.  Such participation by the Christian people is their right and duty by reason of their baptism.”
(Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Chapter 1, #14)

Liturgical Ministry at Annunciation provides many opportunities for members of our parish family to deepen their faith by serving their community.  Through their example, Liturgical Ministers enhance our liturgical celebrations, support the prayer of the assembly, and bring about greater participation within the whole community.

Liturgical Ministers are lay people who take  leadership roles in the celebration of our parish liturgies.  All of us are called to examine our particular gifts and use those gifts to their best advantage.  Serving our parish community as a Liturgical Minister is a special calling that enriches not only the assembly, but each person who makes the decision to answer that call.

Qualifications for Ministry

If you have recently joined Annunciation Parish and have been serving as a Liturgical Minister in another faith community, please contact the Liturgy Office if you wish to join our liturgical team.

Ministry Schedules and Newsletters are sent out three or four times during the year. Ministers are also given the opportunity to volunteer to serve for special liturgies (such as Holy Week and Christmas).

“In the reform and promotion of the liturgy, this full and active participation by all the people is the aim to be considered before all else.  For it is the primary and indispensable source from which the faithful are to derive the true Christian spirit...”
