Finding God 2013 (by Loyola Press)

VATICAN CITY (AP) - Pope Francis has done away with the honorific title "monsignor" for all but a few priests, further evidence of his desire for priests to be simple, humble servants. The Vatican's Secretary of State sent a letter to its embassies asking them to inform bishops' conferences of the change. From now on, the Vatican reported Tuesday, only diocesan priests who are "chaplains of the Holy Father," can use the honorific, and then only after they turn 65. Bishops, vicars and archbishops still get to be called "monsignor" and Holy See officials will have the title if their office warrants it. The Vatican noted that Pope Paul VI reduced the number of ecclesiastic honorifics in 1968 and that Francis' decision "should be taken in this vein, as a further simplification." Also on HuffPost:

Finding God: Our Response to God's Gifts fosters a lifelong relationship with God by engaging children in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Based on a spiral curriculum that integrates the fundamental themes of the Catechism as well as Scripture and Catholic social teachings. Each unit opens with the story of a saint whos holy life and response to God's love illustrate the unit theme. Every session follows a pattern beginning with Engage, a question and opening prayer to lead into the session. Then Explore deepens the children's understanding of Scripture and doctrine as they read, discuss, experience and pray. In Explore Further, children leave the book to explore and discuss works of traditional and modern art from around the world that connect to the unit themes. Then the children Reflect and Respond through various forms of prayer and through review. Every unit closes with Celebrating the Liturgical Year. Throughout, special features and sidebars highlight Scripture, Liturgy, Saints, Sacred Sites and interesting facts.
